As promised, i haven't gone to bed, but chosen to create another random (and very long) post.
I realised that i should have put a picture or two in my last post, to make it more interesting (not that it wasn't obv)
Which lead me onto a topic of discusion which was going to come up sooner or later, Photography. Better to try and tackle this one when im in a sleepy/talkative mood. I will say that i consider myself above the average point and shoot 'casual snapper', but wouldn't call myself a fully flegded pro just yet. The thing that gets me is (<Rant indicator) people who take their camera and take a picture of some seaweed then go home, upload it online for people to say, "Wow, thats so creative and arty". Right... just looks like a picture... of some seaweed (Bad analogy, i know). See, i've always thought the 'secret' to good photos is just being in the right place at the right time. Especially for outdoor/landscape shots, which have become somewhat a favourite of mine recently, its best to wait until the light is right, even if it means freezing your toes off. Anyway i could go on for hours. Editing is another thing which is becoming popular. I've been asked about editing pictures a few times so here's my view. First off, (In my opinion) there are only two types of editing, one to enhance your image, and one to completely change whats in the picture, these can both be used effectively to produce amazing photos, but only if they are used right. My tip is, practice... a lot. Its better to do a few attempts with different lighting and colours so you can get the best possible compromise. I feel its apropriate to quote a classmate here (naming no names :P) " All you do is turn the contrast and saturation right up". Well, far from it, that happens to be one of the worse things to do actually. It all depends on the photo itself, getting the right balance of lighting effects for the situation. ANYWAY, i think thats enough of that rant, even though i'll probably end up doing another post on the exact same subject in the future. As i said, these are my opinions and they could well be terrible. Hopefully i'll give up and leave another post till tomorrow when i regret ever starting this... we'll see ;P RIGHT cheers!
